Mr. Ashraf Samir

Mr. Ashraf Samir was appointed Executive Director of Legal & Market Supervision of Boursa Kuwaiti on April 3rd, 2016. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Law and a Master’s in International Business Law from Cairo University, Egypt.

Mr. Samir has over 25 years of exceptional working experience in providing legal advisory, guiding and developing laws and regulations. He chaired the committee in charge of drafting the Capital Markets Authority Executive Bylaws and was a member of the committee that was in charge of drafting the Company’s Laws. Mr. Samir also provided strategic directions to Boursa Kuwait’s management and leadership team with regards to applicable laws, rules and regulations.

As the Head of Legal and Market Supervision, Mr. Samir provides leadership and strategic directions to the legal and market control functions to ensure sound management of legal risks and safeguard market order and integrity. He oversees the investigation of violations to the market’s rules and coordinates with the Capital Markets Authority to ensure compliance with different regulations.
